Creating Identities Beyond Style
I think people tend to mistake personal branding for fashion or style. That’s a very very small part of it. When I work on someone’s personal brand, to me, it’s all about what brought them HERE in this very moment and all the threads that make them unique. The image consultation part of my work is only to ensure that my solopreneurs are totally confident in being in front of their business. And as a former diplomat consultant, how I presented myself to top government officials was hugely important in being taken seriously moved past my young age and lack of experience compared to their seniority.
From Solopreneur to Expert
As someone with a very specific niche (ie., diplomacy), I quickly moved from being an expert to an inspirer which came to life with my personal brand. From citizens to diplomats, my mission was to facilitate genuine connections between governments and communities on the ground with personal branding so that people could see government officials as themselves - one person who also felt concern about real issues in society. Now as a Personal Brand expert, this purpose-driven approach extends to the heart of solopreneurs and small businesses who are passionate about the magic they bring and their refusal to work for someone else. With the right image, narrative, and presence, it’s possible for all solopreneurs to thrive in their niche industry no matter how much competition you have. There is a lane for all of us and enough work to go around.
