YOU WANNA KNOW

WHO THE FAIRY BOSSMOTHER IS?

I’m Talyn Rahman-Figueroa, a Public Identity expert. I read between the lines and I notice what you’re too close to see yourself.

MY STORY

Before I tell you about the Fairy BOSSmother, I need to tell you about the girl who used to watch people for hours on the streets of London.

I noticed people. How they spoke differently depending on who was in front of them. How someone’s face could tell a different story from their words. How the energy in a conversation could change before anybody acknowledged it.

I thought everybody read people like this. It took me years to realise they didn’t.

Chapter 1

THE INVISIBLE CHILD

As a kid, I felt invisible.

I could achieve something I was proud of and be met with silence or comparison. There always seemed to be somebody doing better, so I learned very early that being good wasn’t enough.

If I wanted to be seen, I had to be extraordinary. So I worked harder. I achieved more. I became ambitious. And while I was trying desperately to be noticed myself, I became very good at noticing everybody else.

That belief followed me well into my adulthood.

Chapter 2

I BUILT THE IMPRESSIVE LIFE

In my twenties, I earned a Master's degree, lived abroad, travelled internationally and pursued a career in diplomacy. I moved to Japan, met my husband and continued building the kind of life younger me thought would finally prove something.

Eventually, I was working in diplomacy, alongside diplomats, politicians, and decision-makers from international institutions. I had reached the world I spent years working toward. But becoming a diplomat did not make me feel seen. If anything, I realised the role asked me to disappear into something bigger than myself. And after spending so much of my life trying not to feel invisible, that hit a nerve.

Chapter 3

I BUILT MY OWN WAY IN

I was drawn to diplomacy for all the reasons you might expect: the title, the importance of the work, the room it could take me into. before my traditional diplomatic career had really begun, I realised something uncomfortable. The title I had worked so hard for wasn’t actually me. I didn’t want to disappear behind something that didn’t belong to me.

So I left the traditional path and built my own. I founded Grassroot Diplomat and created an organisation that allowed me to work across the diplomatic world. I began building relationships with politicians, ambassadors and decision-makers, and advising people in public life.

The strange thing was, most of these people knew nothing about me, yet they trusted me. They opened up to me. They felt seen.

Chapter 4

MY LIFE KEPT CHANGING

After Grassroot Diplomat, my life kept moving.

I became a wife. I moved countries. I became an expat again. I became an entrepreneur again. I became a mother, a boss and eventually a fighter.

Each new chapter added something to me, but I didn’t always know how the pieces fit together. For a long time, I struggled to explain who I was without reaching for a title.

I was still a diplomat, mother, founder, and business owner, but none of them felt like the whole answer.

Chapter 5

THE OBSERVATION THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING

For years, I thought being authentic meant showing up as myself everywhere. The problem was, I had no idea which version of myself I was supposed to show.

I was Talyn the diplomat, the entrepreneur, the mother, the wife, the British expat, the fighter. They were all genuinely me, but I didn’t want every part of me available to everyone.

And saying, “I’m just myself online and offline” never felt quite true either. I wasn’t the same woman sitting on the sofa with my husband as I was speaking on stage or walking into an embassy.

I needed a public version of me that felt completely natural without requiring my whole private self to come with her.

That’s when I started building the Fairy BOSSmother.

Chapter 6

THE FAIRY BOSSMOTHER

The Fairy BOSSmother became the public version of me I had been missing.

She gave the diplomat, the entrepreneur and the fighter somewhere to belong, without requiring me to put every part of Talyn on display. I could be visible, expressive and completely myself while still keeping parts of my life just for me.

And then something familiar started happening.

Through the Fairy BOSSmother Show, I found myself doing what I had done since I was a little girl. I watched people. I listened closely. I noticed the passing comments, contradictions and strengths they brushed aside.

Guests would stop and tell me they had never thought about themselves that way before.

They felt seen.

It was the same thing I had experienced years earlier through Grassroot Diplomat, only now I finally understood what I was doing.

I gave it a name: the Human Brand X-Ray.

And somewhere along the way, the girl who spent her childhood wanting to be seen became the woman people came to when they wanted someone to really see them.
